Theater As-Built Model for Historic Tennessee Theater
Project Description
Scan Skunks is proud to present one of our latest historical Scan to BIM projects. We had the privilege to scan the Crockett Theatre & Creative Arts Center in Lawrenceburg, TN. This 19,500 sqft venue has over 1,150 seats in the downtown streetscape of Lawrenceburg, TN.
Working direclty with Meg Hershey Consults, we were able to scan the 1950's built art deco structure in a day. The theater is divided into a main level, mezzanine level, and attic catwalk space. Our two man scanning crew dissected the theater with terrestrial scanners, mobile slam scanners, virtual tour cameras and drone photography. The Lawrenceburg, TN As-Built Drawings were completed in Revit, and exported as 2D CAD files.

The unique challenges of this property were attic / catwalk access. To rise to this challenge we used the Geoslam Horizon mobile scanner to get a very thorough point cloud of the catwalk-lined space. We also utilized the same scanner in mapping out the structure that was underneath the mezzanine level.
These historical finds are what make this work fun for us. We are thankful to Meg Hershey Consults and the onsite city staff that we were able to help document this Middle Tennessee icon.
