Matterport Resort Scanning in Townsend, TN - Digital Twin at Scale
Project Description
Scan Skunks recently undertook the monumental task of conducting a comprehensive inventory of the expansive Tremont Lodge and Resort located in the picturesque town of Townsend, TN. Boasting over 125 units, along with a wedding venue, three inviting pools, and numerous meeting spaces, the resort presented a multifaceted challenge that demanded attention to detail and advanced scanning technology.
To tackle the diverse layout and features of the resort, Scan Skunks strategically divided the property into six distinct Matterport Models, each capturing a different section of the complex. This segmentation allowed for a systematic approach to data collection while ensuring that no area was overlooked. Over the course of three intensive days on site, our dedicated team worked in close collaboration with resort staff to navigate the sprawling 10-building complex and overcome various logistical hurdles.
Matterport Pro 3 Digital Twin Outdoor Capture
One of the key highlights of our scanning solution was the utilization of the Matterport Pro 3 Camera with a lighting setup, enabling us to capture high-quality scans even in areas with limited power supply or undergoing repairs. This approach ensured comprehensive coverage of the resort, including previously inaccessible or poorly lit spaces, providing our client with a holistic view of their property's condition.
Beyond simply cataloging the physical layout of the resort, our inventory efforts delved deeper into assessing the condition of amenities, furniture, walls, and hardware throughout the property. By documenting the state of each element, we provided invaluable insights to the resort management, facilitating informed decision-making regarding maintenance, refurbishment, and future planning initiatives.
Additionally, our scanning process extended to identifying rough sizes and dimensions for all units within the resort, offering a valuable resource for space planning and renovation projects. This comprehensive approach to inventory management not only streamlined operations for the resort but also empowered them with actionable data to enhance guest experiences and optimize facility management strategies.
